The purpose of the RMHS Band Parent's Organization is to provide financial and physical support as well as foster an improved educational environment to the instrumental music program involving RMHS students that participate in Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, Color Guard and any other group directly tied to the music department at the high school.
July Practices Begin This Week!
We hope everyone received an email that our Drum Major, Kerry, sent out last week. Voluntary practices begin this Wednesday July 9th. Students should arrive at the band room around 5:30 to be ready for stretch block at 5:45. Remember to bring water and sunscreen along with a hat as we will be working outside. Students should also bring their music and instruments.
The BPO and current band members are excited to welcome the incoming Marching Band and Color Guard students. We are looking forward to the 2014-2015 season!

On Tuesday, June 17 at 7:00 in the RMHS Band Room the BPO will host an Ice Cream Social to welcome incoming Freshman and other new band families.
RMHS Award-Winning Finals Performances
RMHS Winter Guard Won NESBA Finals
Our RMHS Winter Guard won GOLD in the New England Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) New England Winter Guard Championships. Reading competed in the Guard Local Scholastic A class at the NESBA Finals in Salem on March 29, 2014 and placed 1st! Congratulations to all our winter guard members and coaches Samantha Strong, Alyx Strong, Molly O'Donnell, Ben Owens, and John Duffy on a tremendously successful season!
RMHS Jazz Ensemble Won GOLD in Finals
Our RMHS Jazz Ensemble receives GOLD medal in the Massachusetts Association for Jazz Education (MAJE) State Jazz Ensemble Finals. Reading Jazz Ensemble competed in the MAJE State Jazz Ensemble Finals in Framingham on March 29, 2014 and placed 1st! Congratulations to our Jazz Ensemble and Mr. Bunten on a wonderfully successful season!
RMHS Winter Percussion Placed 3rd in Finals
Our RMHS Winter Percussion medaled in the New England Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) New England Winter Percussion Championships Reading Winter Percussion competed in the Percussion Scholastic Concert A class in North Andover on March 30, 2014 and placed 3rd! Congratulations to our Winter Percussion and Mr. Will Bounas on a wonderfully successful season!

Parents of Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, and Color Guard attend. In an effort to distribute meeting notes in a timely manner and save printing costs, the BPO Secretary is making draft meeting minutes available electronically via the RMHS-BPO site.

NEXT BPO Parent Meeting will be: Tuesday, June 17 at 7:00 in the RMHS Band Room. This will be our final BPO meeting of the season. We will welcome all the new incoming freshmen for band and Color Guard along with their families with an ice cream social.
